About Asif Hasan
Lemme tell you something interesting. What’s the earliest memory you have? Mine is learning to eat by my own hand when I was just 11 months old! Unbelievable? Trust me, it’s verified by my parents. And two decades later, here I’m telling you my story.
Hi, I’m Asif Hasan but you can also call me Joy. I’m a 23-year-old kid from Dhaka who just loves the Dhakaiya accent so much. I live with my parents and my younger brother at the heart of the capital. You’ll find them on my social media. Having three government scholarships and a pretty good academic record, I decided to become a pilot but only to find out later that it’s way beyond my league. So I decided to chase my other dream- to become an entrepreneur. After graduating from Notre Dame College, I got into one of the most prestigious business schools in the country- Institute of Business Administration at University of Rajshahi. In my first year, I found the traditional ‘resume’ pretty boring and decided to create a digital one. So I made a demo ‘1 minute video resume’ and showed it to one of the most celebrated HR professionals and to my surprise, I landed my first job from there! My networks grew and I gradually became the marketing executive of BD Souvenir, DGA Analyst of Berger Paints Bangladesh Ltd. and my most favorite- Regional Manager of Robi 10 Minute School, where I was the co-founder of Rajshahi Hub that helped the edutech company to expand outside the capital.
I always loved organizing events and volunteering. Like to call myself an ‘Edutainer’ who teaches people through entertainment. I’m a public speaking trainer, a model here and there and a show host. Other than that I’m interested in aviation, astronomy, history and anthropology. I’m a huge fan of Arnob, Beatles, Bob Dylan, Backstreet Boys and jazz music. Usually prefer sea beach over mountains and a journey by train. Coffee lover, sure but nothing can be compared with a good and hot ‘Kacchi Biriyani’. ‘Zindegi Na Milegi Dobara’ and ‘The Judge’ are the two movies that inspire me a lot. If I ever got the chance, I’d definitely love to portray the character ‘Topesh’ from Feluda authored by Satyajit Roy. In personal life, I’m pretty straight-forward and open minded, friendly and reliable, more rational than emotional but fear oblivion the most.
